Coach Resendes is a rising star in the college soccer coaching community, having built one of the best winning percentages in the country with an overall record of 115-10-6 in 7 seasons as a head coach. 

In his first season at the helm of the Bryant program, Resendes led the Bulldogs to a record breaking season. After inheriting a program that went 3-10-1 in 2022, Resendes and the Bulldogs reached the most wins in program history and gathered a record of 16-2-2 on their way to the America East conference title and a regular season runner-up finish. In addition to making their first NCAA Tournament, the squad also cracked the Top 25 rankings for the first time, peaking at #19 in the last poll of the season. Under Resendes' guidance, Bryant was consitently ranked top in the contry in goals allowed, goal differential, shutout percentage, save percentage, and win-loss-tie percentage. Resendes also led the Bulldogs to two unbeaten streaks during the season, going 8-0 without allowing a goal to open the season and reaching an 11 game unbeaten run on the way to the program's first conference title. That 11 game streak was the longest in program history.

 

In 2022, Resendes ushered Franklin Pierce's men's soccer team to the NCAA Division II National Championship. In his four seasons at FPU, the team consistently ranked Top 10 in Division II. Resendes’ overall record during his time at Franklin Pierce (2019-2022) was 66-5-4.

 

In his final season (2022) The Ravens finished 25-0-1 overall, tying the record for highest winningest percentage for a school to claim a national title in NCAA history. After winning the conference regular season & tournament championship for the second consecutive season, Resendes was also named the Northeast-10 Conference Coach of The Year for the second year in a row (2021 & 2022). Resendes and his staff were recognized as United Soccer Coaches East Region Coaching Staff of The Year for the third year running (2020, 2021, 2022) and were named National Coaching Staff of the Year at the end of the 2022 season. 

In 2021, Resendes led Franklin Pierce to a 20-1-1 record, a sweep of the Northeast-10 Conference regular-season and tournament championships and a Sweet 16 appearance in the NCAA Division II Men’s Soccer Championship before being upset in penalty kicks to Millersville.

During the abbreviated and delayed 2020-21 COVID season, Franklin Pierce finished 6-0-0, including a sweep of its three NCAA Division I opponents Providence College, University of Rhode Island, and UAlbany, and earned a No. 2 NCAA Division II national ranking to wrap up the COVID spring season. 

In 2019, Resendes inherited an FPU program that finished 7-10-1 in the season prior to his arrival (2018). In his first season, he led the Ravens to a 15-4-2 overall record, and a second place finish in the conference. Resendes and his staff received an at-large selection to the NCAA Tournament and made an impressive run to the national championship quarterfinals (Elite 8) before suffering a loss to eventual national champions Charleston (WV). 

Prior to arriving at Franklin Pierce in 2019, Resendes served as the top assistant coach at University of Vermont (2017 & 2018) under Rob Dow’s first 2 seasons as head coach. During his tenure as first assistant at UVM, the team captured the America East Championship in 2017 after being picked to finish in 7th place in the preseason poll. In addition to serving as assistant coach at Vermont, Resendes also served as the Director of Coaching & Player Development at Blackwatch Premier Youth Soccer Club based out of Burlington, Vermont.

Prior to his move to Vermont, Resendes began his head coaching career at Dean College (MA) where he inherited a program that was 9-6-1 prior to his arrival and amassed a 33-3-0 record in 2015 & 2016 while helping the program transition from NJCAA Division I to NCAA Division III. 

In 2015 (1st season), Resendes led the Dean Bulldogs to an undefeated regular season (16-0-0) in their final year of NJCAA Division I, before being upset in the first round of the national tournament, finishing 16-1-0 on the season. Resendes was recognized as Easton Region Coach of The Year. 

In 2016 (2nd season), Dean entered their NCAA Division III exploratory year and played a full NCAA Division III schedule. Resendes led the Bulldogs to a 17-2-0 record in their first season of Division III and was recognized as the 2016 Massachusetts Coaches Association Coach of The Year. due to their tranistion between divisions, the Bulldogs could not qualify for NCAA post-season play.

Resendes held his head coaching position at Dean for two seasons while simultaneously serving as a head coach within the New England Revolution Academy (MLS) for their U23 and U14 team. During his tenure with the New England Revolution, Resendes helped develop many future pro players and US Youth National Team players. 

As a player, Resendes graduated from and played 4 seasons at NCAA Division II Southern New Hampshire University where he was. 4-time all conference, 3-time all region selection, and collected All American honors in his senior season. The Penmen made 4 NCAA tournaments during Resendes’ playing career and won (2) conference championships. After his college career, Resendes played 1 season overseas in the Icelandic 1st division before beginning his coaching career as an assistant at Emmanuel College (2013) and his alma mater SNHU (2014). 

Resendes is the founder and Director of Resendes Soccer Academy, which was established in 2019. The organization held three camps in its first year and now 5 years later offers more than fifty camps and clinics year round across New England and serves more than 20 youth soccer organizations with various coaching services in Southeastern Massachusetts & Rhode Island. 

Resendes resides in Swansea, Massachusetts with his wife Kate and two daughters (Ainsley & Gabriella) and their dog Charlie.
