Bulldogs cruise past Providence on Friday night

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – The Bryant University men's swimming and diving team won 11 individual events and 13 overall events on their way to a 163-94 victory over Providence on Friday night at the Chace Athletic Center Pool.

Ben Schulte (Tumon, Guam) won three events and Tavish Boyle (Springfield, N.J.) and Boris Paraliticci (Saunderstown, R.I.) each won two events on the evening to lead the Black and Gold to their second-straight dual meet victory. Schulte won the 200 and 500 free and the 200 IM. Boyle won the 100 and 200 breast and finished second behind Schulte in the 200 IM. Paraliticci won the 100 free and the 100 fly.

The Bulldogs also got victories from Charlie Broe (New Windsor, N.Y.), Colin Curtin (Wethersfield, Conn.), Shane Vyskocil (Parsippany, N.J.) and Pierre Le Guyader (East Islip, N.Y.). Broe won the 1000 free, his first collegiate victory, Curtin won the 100 back, Vyskocil won the 200 fly and Le Guyader won the 50 free.

Bryant won the 400 medley and 200 free relays and swept three separate events on the night. Curtin, Boyle, Paraliticci and Schulte combined to win the 400 medley relay. George Sommerville (Pittsfield, Mass.), Zachary Hannon (Marlborough, Mass.), Paraliticci and Le Guyader teamed up to win the 200 free relay.

The Bulldogs host Colgate on Saturday night at 6:00 p.m. at the Chace Athletic Center Pool.
