Bulldogs swim past NJIT, 170-92, Sunday afternoon

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Juniors Ben Schulte (Tumon, Guam) and Colin Curtin (Wethersfield, Conn.) and sophomore Tavish Boyle (Springfield, N.J.) led the Bryant University men's swimming and diving team to a 170-92 victory over NJIT on Sunday afternoon at the Chace Athletic Center Pool.

With the win, the Bulldogs improve to 3-3-1 this season.

Schulte won three events on Sunday, claiming the 200 free (1:45.31), the 100 free (48.62) and the 200 IM (1:59.22). Boyle claimed the 100 breast (1:01.03) and the 200 breast (2:14.03). Curtin won the 100 back (53.67), the 200 back (1:57.27) and finished second in the 1000 free (10:15.71).  

Bryant also received strong performances from Oliver French (Nashua, N.H.), Zach DiGiaro (Middletown, N.J.), Boris Paraliticci (Saunderstown, R.I.), George Sommerville (Pittsfield, Mass.), Shane Vyskocil (Parsippany, N.J.), Robert Davis (Glastonbury, Conn.) and Benon Boyadjian (Middlebury, Conn.).

French finished second in the 200 fly and third in the 500 free and the 1000 free.

DiGiaro was third in the 200 fly, Paraliticci and Sommerville went 1-2 in the 50 free, Vyskocil finished second in the 200 breast, Davis was second in the 500 free and Boyadjian was second in the 100 fly.

The Bulldogs return to the pool next weekend when they travel to URI for the Harold Anderson Invitational.
