Bulldogs finish third at Harold Anderson Invitational

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Sophomore diver Kevin Sullivan (East Lyme, Conn.) and freshman Robert Davis (Glastonbury, Conn.) shined as the Bryant University men's swimming and diving team wrapped up competition in the Harold Anderson Invitational on Saturday afternoon.

The Bulldogs finished the two-day meet with 722.5 points, good enough for a third-place finish. Providence won the meet with 830 points.

Sullivan won the 3-meter dive and finished second in the 1-meter dive, while Davis won the 1650 free and finished third in the 500 free. Sullivan posted scores of 208 and 206.10, respectively, and Davis won the 1650 free with a time of 16:51.28.

Bryant also received strong performances from Ben Schulte (Tumon, Guam) and Colin Curtin (Wethersfield, Conn.). Schulte finished fourth in the 200 breast (2:09.72), second in the 200 IM (1:56.44) and third in the 100 breast (58.47). Curtin finished fifth in the 200 back (2:00.06), fifth in the 500 free (4:53.59) and third in the 100 back (52.92).

Other top performers included George Sommerville (Pittsfield, Mass.), Zach Vogel (South Easton, Mass.), Shane Vyskocil (Parsiappany, N.J.), Oliver French (Nashua, N.H.) and Zach DiGiaro (Middletown, N.J.). Sommerville finished fourth in the 50 free, Vogel finished third in the 3-meter and fourth in the 1-meter, Vyskocil finished second in the 400 IM, French finished third in the 1650 free and DiGiaro was fourth in the 200 fly.

Bryant had success in the relay events, finished third in the 400 medley relay, fourth in the 200 free relay, second in the 200 medley relay and third in the 400 free relay. Curtin, Schulte, Cyrus Nabavi (Murray, Kent.) and Sommerville combined on Bryant's 200 medley relay team.
