Schulte shines on day two of WPI Invitational

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Strong performances from Ben Schulte (Tumon, Guam) and Kevin Sullivan (East Lyme, Conn.) highlighted the second day of competition at the WPI Gompei Invitational for the Bryant University men's swimming and diving team.

The Bulldogs are currently in fourth place with 2,297.5 points. WPI leads the 13-team field with 3,040 points.

Schulte was Bryant's top swimmer on Saturday, posting seventh-place finishes in the 200 IM and the 100 breast. He posted a time of 1:56.90 in the 200 IM and 58.19 in the 100 breast. Schulte also helped the 200 free relay and the 400 medley relay teams to fourth-place finishes.

Sullivan had a strong day on the boards, finishing third in the 1-meter dive. He posted a new personal record score of 404.25. Zach Vogel (South Easton, Mass.) finished sixth in the event with a personal-best score of 385.30.
