Men's swim & dive falls to UMass on Saturday

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – The Bryant University men's swimming and diving team fell to the University of Massachusetts, 185-104, on Saturday afternoon in Amherst, Mass.

The Bulldogs were swimming in a dual meet for the first time in 2017 after returning from their annual training trip.

Freshman Robert Davis (Glastonbury, Conn.) led the way for the Bulldogs, winning the 1000 free and finishing third in the 200 free. Davis posted a winning time of 10:09.78 in the 1000 free and finished the 200 free in 1:50.81.  

Other top performers included Oliver French (Nashua, N.H.), Ben Schulte (Tumon, Guam), Charlie Broe (New Windsor, N.Y.) and Tavish Boyle (Springfield, N.J.). French finished second in the 1000 free, Schulte finished second in the 100 breast and third in the 200 breast, Broe was third in the 200 back and Boyle finished second in the 200 breast.

The Bulldogs return to the pool on Jan. 28 when they visit Holy Cross.
