Hazlewood donned MAAC's Diver of the Week

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Freshman diver Trevor Hazlewood (Corpus Christi, Texas) is the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Diver of the Week after his great performances over the weekend at the Gompei Invitational at WPI.

Hazlewood led the Bulldogs with a pair of Top 2 finishes with a win in the 1-meter diving event and a second-place finish in the 3-meter.

After diving to a 441.55 score in the prelims of the 1-meter event, he followed it up with a 435.50 score to win the event by five points over teammate Zach Vogel (South Easton, Mass.).

He then beat his 3-meter prelims score by close to 40 points, finishing the finals with a 415.10 score after diving a 376.25 score in the prelims.

Both of his results land him in the Top 3 in the MAAC this season.

Hazlewood is the second straight Bulldog to win a MAAC weekly honor, with classmate Matthew Mays (St. Croix, Virgin Islands) winning Swimmer of the Week honors last week.

The Bulldogs are off until after the holiday break, with their next meet coming January 13 at the Chace Athletic Center Pool against UMass.
