Men's Swim & Dive wins the 2021 NEC Championships

Carlisle, Pa. The Bryant Univeristy men's swimming and diving team won the 2021 Northeast Conference Championships with a final score of 670.5.

 

Notes and Notables

  • The Bulldogs began the meet with a second-place finish in the 1650 free from Tyler Stringfellow (15:51.82(.
  • Matthew Mays won the gold medal in the 200 back (1:44.06). He also set a school record, NEC record, Keystone Aquatic Center Pool record, and qualified for an NCAA B-cut.
  • The Black and Gold reached the podium again with the first bronze medal of the night in the 100 free from Matthew Mastroianni (45.46).
  • FuKang Wong joined teammate Mays by setting an NEC record and placing first in the 200 breast with a time of 1:58.98.
  • Brandon Naylor received the first medal of his career in the 200 fly when he claimed the silver (1:51.90).
  • Bryant ended the night as they started it with a second-place finish in the 400 free relay. The team of Wong, Mastroianni, Eric Bebel, and Mays touched the wall at 3:02.10.
  • Mays was named the Swimmer of the Meet. Mays won three gold medals in the 200 IM and 100 and 200 back.
  • The Bulldogs ended the Championships with 16 medals (six gold, six silver, and four bronze).
