Bulldogs beaten by Binghamton in season opener

SMITHFIELD, R.I. - The Bryant University men's swimming and diving fell to Binghamton in their first meet of the regular season by a score of 184 - 116.

This was the first time that the Bulldogs hosted an America East meet at the Chace Pool and they did so in front of an electric crowd.

Notes and Notables

  • Sophomore diver Christopher Buonocore placed first in both the 1m and 3m competitions with scores of 289.65 and 294.84. These were personal bests for Buonocore.
  • Junior Leo Luna placed first in the 1000 yard freestyle with a time of 9:36.32. He beat the second place finisher by nearly seven seconds.
  • Griffin Lajoie took the top spot in the 200 yard backstroke with a time of 1:52.55.

Next Up

Bryant hosts Providence College for friends and family weekend next week. Diving will match up with PC on Thursday (Nov. 2nd) at the Brown University facilities while swimming is at the Chace Pool on Friday (Nov. 3rd) at 5:00 pm.
