Bryant taken down on the road by Fordham

NEW YORK – The Bryant University men's swimming and diving team fell to Fordham on Saturday 185-113.

Leo Luna took both distance freestyle events while Christopher Buonocore continued his dominance on the boards.

Notes and Notables

  • Leo Luna swam away with the win in the 1000 yard freestyle with a time of 9:36.64. He beat the second place finisher by nearly 35 seconds.
  • Luna also won the 500 yard freestyle in which he raced a 4:39.35. This time he beat the second place finisher by almost 10 seconds.
  • Andrew Gamper took first place in the 200 yard fly with his time of 1:55.84.
  • Christopher Buonocore and Will Arnold had 1-2 finishes in both the 1 meter and 3 meter dives. Buonocore came in first in the 1m with a score of 239.85 while Arnold scored a 222.53. In the 3 meter, Buonocore laid down a 292.58 and Arnold dove to a 235.95.

Next Up

Bryant diving will be back in the pool next weekend at the Terrier Invitational at Boston University (Nov. 17-19th). The swimming team will have a few weeks off though as they don't compete again until they travel to WPI (Dec. 1-3rd).
