Bryant Splits Home Meet With WPI: Women Victorious, Men Defeated

Women Swimmers Top Engineers, Men Fall to WPI

Smithfield- In their first action since the Northeast-10 Championships in New Haven, CT, the Bulldog swimmers split a home meet with the Engineers of Worcester Polytechnic Institute. Jess Looney (Goffstown, NH) led the women to a 172-80 win while the men were nipped 140-109.

Freshman Looney was again the star for the women, capturing the 100-yard backstroke, 500-yard freestyle, and 100-yard freestyle events. The team of Looney, Allison Schaab (Boothwyn, PA), Alyssa Glass (Cheshire, CT), and Dayna Konko (Staten Island, NY) captured the 400-yard medley relay.

 Freshman Margaret Dickinson (West Newbury, MA) also was impressive; capturing the 200-yard freestyle, 50-yard breaststroke, and 200-yard individual medley as well as being part of the victorious team in teh 200-yard freestyle relay.

 Ray Savner (Bethlehem, CT) and John Cieslewski (Watertown, CT) led the way for the men. Savner, a junior, captured the 50-yard freestyle event adn the 200-yard freestyle relay with Greg Reed (Pembroke, MA) , Joel Martineau (Spencer, MA), and Bobby Tambascio (Old Greenwich, CT). 

  The freshman Cieslewski captured three individual events: the 50-yard and 100-yard breaststroke events and the 200-yard individual medley. 

 The Bulldogs will return to action Saturday when they host Adelphi. The event will begin at 2pm in the Chace Center Pool.
