As a sophomore: Finished the year with a 17-15 singles mark, including 3-1 vs. the Northeast Conference … Went 4-3 at No. 4 singles on the year, earning All-NEC First Team honors … Went a perfect 2-0 at the NEC Championships in April, securing the match-clinching victory vs. FDU’s Gonzalo Quintana at No. 4 singles to secure the NEC Title for Bryant … Finished 12-8 in doubles competition, going 6-1 with partner Jorge Ortiz-Garcia … Named ECAC Player of the Week on April 23. 

As a freshman: Finished his rookie year at Bryant with a 21-12 overall singles record, posting the second most wins among Northeast Conference opponents (trailing only Dana Parziale) … Went a perfect 5-0 in NEC play … Registered a 14-14 record in doubles play, going 7-6 at No. 3 doubles, primarily with partner John Templeman … Finished the year on an eight-match win streak, earning wins in all three on Bryant’s NEC Tournament matches at No. 3 singles … Named NEC Rookie of the Week/Month three times (Oct. 29, March 6, April 8) … Named All-NEC First Team at No. 3 singles.

Before Bryant: A native of San Diego, Calif., Oliver Welsh currently attends Laurel Springs High School. In the past year alone, Welsh has accumulated titles at the K-Swiss Championships, the Balboa Championship (singles and doubles) and the RPTC Singles tournament. Welsh also had a strong showing at the Los Caballeros Jr. Open Tournament (one of the largest Level 3 tennis tournaments in California), falling in the semi-finals. His strong outings have propelled him to a top-30 ranking in Southern California, as well as earning a 4-star rating (130th overall) on tennisrecruiting.net.
