Bulldogs finish 6-5 against Terriers and Bobcats over the weekend

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – The Bryant University men's tennis team hosted Quinnipiac and Boston University over the weekend, where the team finished 6-5 with juniors Luke Lorenz (Colorado Springs, Colo.) and Jorge Ortiz-Garcia (Trujillo Alto, Puerto Rico) leading the team with two wins, respectively.

Lorenz defeated Boston University's Satyajit Simhadri in three sets, 4-6, 6-0, 6-3, before joining partner sophomore Artur Jakubowski (Dallas, Texas) for an 8-1 win over Ryoma Haraguchi and Patrick Cachapero of Quinnipiac. Ortiz-Garcia won convincingly, 6-0, 6-0, over BU's Miguel Cepeda in singles. In doubles, the junior paired with classmate Josh Kliger (Newport Beach, Calif.) for an 8-2 victory over Marc Sable and John Avila of BU.

Redshirt sophomore Matt Kuhar (Smithfield, R.I.) recorded the only other Bryant victory in singles, defeating BU's Lucas Bombonnatti, 6-1, 7-6. Freshman duo Jorge Isaias Ortiz Garcia (Trujillo Alto, Puerto Rico) and Andrew Quiros (Pembroke Pines, Fla.) took down Quinnipiac's Julian Rozenstein and Jackson Koke, 8-6, for the Bulldogs' final win of the weekend.

"This will end our fall season," said head coach Ron Gendron. "We are looking forward to two months of hard work in preparation for January."
