Kuhar's weekend victories at No. 1 singles earns him NEC Player of the Week

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Redshirt sophomore Matt Kuhar (Smithfield, R.I.) of the Bryant University men's tennis team earns NEC Player of the Week, following back-to-back wins over opponents from Buffalo and Princeton at No. 1 singles.

Kuhar continues to play at an elite level for the Bulldogs, collecting a pair of non-league wins last week to lift his singles record to 11-5 on the year. The redshirt sophomore downed Buffalo's Hao Sheng Koay, 6-2, 6-1, on Saturday. The following afternoon, he downed Princeton's Alexander Day, 6-4, 4-6, 1-0 (9-7). Day cracked the ITA rankings earlier this year. Kuhar, a two-time NEC Player of the Month, has now won three straight #1 singles matches and has defeated three Ivy League rivals during the 2016-17 campaign.
