Bulldogs manage Knights, 7-0, on Saturday

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – The Bryant University men's tennis team enjoyed a dominant 7-0 victory over Fairleigh Dickinson in Saturday's Northeast Conference match.

The Bulldogs (8-11, 3-0 NEC) took a 1-0 lead over the Knights (5-9, 1-1) after capturing the doubles point with wins at No. 1 and No. 3 doubles. The Bryant pair of Matt Kuhar (Smithfield, R.I.) and Luke Lorenz (Colorado Springs, Colo.) defeated Adam Chan and Danilo Vukotic, 6-3, at No. 1 doubles, while the duo of Michael Plutt (Weston, Fla.) and Artur Jakubowski (Dallas, Texas) took down Miki Nobuzawa and Gonzalo Quintana, 6-1, at No. 3 doubles.

All four players continued their success in singles play. Kuhar earned the No. 1 singles point after taking down Quintana, 6-0, 6-2, while Lorenz was triumphant at No. 2 singles, 6-4, 6-4. Plutt defeated Diogo Garnel, 6-0, 6-1, at No. 5 singles, while Jakubowski won, 7-5, 6-3, at No. 3 singles.

Freshman Guido Argentini (Boca Raton, Fla.) topped Danilo Garnel, 6-0, 6-1, at No. 4 singles. Junior Jorge Ortiz-Garcia (Trujillo Alto, Puerto Rico) dominated Salomon Koster, 6-2, 6-2, at No. 6 singles.

With the 7-0 win over FDU, the Bulldogs remain undefeated in NEC play. The Bulldogs look to carry the momentum into Sunday's match against Amherst in Smithfield, beginning at 2 p.m.
