Bulldogs shine on day one of Brown Invite

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – The Bryant University men's team opened its final weekend of fall competition with seven victories on the first day of the Brown Invitational Friday.

"Day one starting out 3-for-4 in doubles and 4-for-6 in singles play was a good start. Looking forward to day two."

How it Happened

  • Bryant dominated the doubles play on Friday, picking up three victories. Seniors Matt Kuhar (Smithfield, R.I.) and Artur Jakubowski (Dallas, Texas) posted a 7-5 win, while Jorge Isaias Ortiz-Garcia (Trujillo Alto, Puerto Rico) and Grant Pertile (Edgartown, Mass.) won a thriller, 7-6 (6).
  • In singles, Kuhar posted a convincing 6-2, 6-2 victory.
  • Bryant also received singles victories from Wilson Dong (Bradenton, Fla.), Alexander Schou (Holte, Denmark) and Andrew Pregel (Cincinnati, Ohio). Dong and Pregel both won in three sets.
