Kuhar, Dong to play in NCAA Championships

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Bryant University men's tennis senior Matt Kuhar (Smithfield, R.I.) and sophomore Wilson Dong (Bradenton, Fla.) have been selected to compete in the doubles portion of the 2019 NCAA Championships in Orlando, Florida.

Kuhar and Dong will be the first doubles team in program and Northeast Conference history to compete in the individual portion of the NCAA Championships. They will be one of 32 teams to compete in Orlando May 20-25.

"It's an honor to represent the NEC," head coach Ron Gendron said. "It's a privilege to be invited to the pinnacle for college tennis. What a journey for this team. Only fitting they get the opportunity to play in late May. Vamos Perros."

The Bryant duo posted a 7-3 mark together this year and are ranked No. 76 in the country. Kuhar and Dong earned a huge victory over the No. 20 ranked doubles team in the country when they defeated David Horneffer and Charlie Broom from Dartmouth, 6-4. They've also earned victories over teams from Brown, Boston University, Merrimack, NJIT and Binghamton.
