Bryant falls to UNO on Thursday

SAN ANTONIO -- The third-seeded Bryant men's tennis team fell to sixth-seeded New Orleans in the first round of the 2024 Southland Conference Men's Tennis Championships on Thursday.

How it Happened

  • Bryant started strong, winning the doubles point with victories at No. 2 and No. 3.
  • Jean-Christophe Baril and Marcus Macaulay won 6-3 at No. 2, while Daniel Baquero and Diego Serra Sparrow won 6-2 at No. 3.
  • In singles, UNO clinched the match with victories at No. 1, No. 2, No. 3 and No. 5.
  • Marcel Volz rallied to a three-set win at No. 1, while the other three points were won in straight sets.
  • Serra Sparrow capped a remarkable senior season with a three-set battle at No. 4 that went unfinished. 
  • Bryant's other singles point came at No. 6 as Baquero won 6-2, 6-0.
