Guy earns First Team All-ECAC nod

JUNIOR LAUREN GUY ADDS FIRST TEAM ALL-ECAC TO LONG LIST OF POSTSEASON HONORS

Adding to an already lengthy list of postseason honors, junior outfielder Lauren Guy (La Habra, Calif.) of the Bryant University softball team was selected as a 2013 Eastern College Athletic Conference First Team honoree for her outstanding performance this past season.

In 42 games this season, Guy hit .395, collecting 49 hits, 10 homeruns and 47 runs scored (all career-highs). She amassed 10 doubles and 20 RBI, while slugging a team-best .734. Guy was a quintessential leadoff hitter for the Bulldogs, drawing 25 walks while posting a whopping .503 on base percentage from the top spot in the order. The junior outfielder was also perfect in the field, making 40 put outs and six assists without an error.

Guy put together an incredible second half of her season, hitting .461 over the course of the final 26 games of 2013. In a two-game stint at Yale on April 30, Guy went 5-for-7 with five runs scored and five RBI. Throughout the season, the California-native put together a pair of 10+ hitting streaks, the longest lasting 12 games from April 13-April 27. During that run, Guy hit .559, collecting 19 hits and 21 runs scored, slugging 1.147 percent and reaching base nearly 70 percent of her at bats.

In addition to an ECAC First Team selection, Guy collected her first-career All-NEC First Team honor and her first NFCA Division I All-Northeast Region Second Team selection. Guy currently ranks second in nearly every major offensive statistical category in Bryant's Division I history, including batting average, on-base percentage, hits, triples, home runs and RBI.
