SERIES HISTORY

  • The last time Bryant met with Stony Brook was in 2014 where the two teams split on the day. The Seawolves lead the all-time series, 3-1, sweeping the Bulldogs in 2012 in the Empire State.
  • Bryant has yet to beat Fairfield, dropping the only three meeting against the Stags. The Bulldogs last met with Fairfield in San Diego, Calif. in 2013 when the Stags topped the Bulldogs, 3-1. The Bulldogs met with Fairfield on two different occasions at the Rebel Spring Games in Kissimmee, Fla. In 2012, the Stags topped Bryant, 12-4, in a five inning decision after being blanked, 6-0, in 2010.  

SCOUTING THE SEAWOLVES

  • Stony Brook posts a record of 6-7 before taking on Iona on Friday before the Invitational.
  • The Seawolves lead the America East with a team batting average of .270. Lindsey Osmer posts an average of .387 batting 12-of-31 on the year with six RBIs.
  • Junior Melissa Rahrich and senior Irene Rivera both lead the Seawolves with four home runs and are tied for second in the conference with .31 home runs per game.
  • Rahrich is also the Seawolves main pitcher, tossing 42.0 innings so far this season.  She has accumulated 23 strikeouts with a 4.0 ERA.
  • Megan T. Bryant has led Stony Brook as the head coach since 2001 as the most winningest coach in program history with over 500 career wins.

SCOUTING THE STAGS

  • The Stags enter the Stony Brook Invitational with a 12-5 overall record after splitting with Delaware State most recently.
  • Amanda Ulzheimer posts a .417 batting average helping the Stags to a team average of .326.
  • As a team Fairfield is third in the MAAC with a 1.88 strikeout-to-walk ratio. Katie Kudlacik leads the conference in that category posting a 5.17 ratio. Kudlacik also leads the Stags with 35 strikeout in 45 innings pitched.
  • Julie Brzezinski is in her 21st season as the head coach of Fairfield.

NOTES AND NOTABLES

  • Bryant enters the season after winning its final game of the Maryland Invitational over Saint Peter's, 8-1.
  • Senior Kaleigh Goulart (Marion, Mass.) hit her first home run of the season against Saint Peter's along with a double that brought in a total of four runs. Goulart now leads the Bulldogs with six RBIs.
  • Freshman Toni Camarillo (Corona, Calif.) ranks fourth in the conference as one of the toughest players to strikeout, posting a value of 16.8. Camarillo also leads the Black and Gold with 16 hits.
  • Sarah McKeveny (Bohemia, N.Y.) leads the Bulldogs with 25 strikeouts as Colby Norris (Toano, Va.) trails closely behind with 24.
