Bulldogs to face River Hawks in AE Playoffs

BALTIMORE, MD. - The number five-seeded Bryant University softball team is set to play the number four-seeded UMass Lowell in the first game of the America East playoffs on Wednesday.

The tournament is double-elimination. The winner of this game advances to the second round, and the loser will play an elimination game at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.

Series History

Bulldogs Notes and Notables

  • Aleix Hudson earned Second Team All-AE honors. She led the team in hits (37) and batting average (.327), both career highs.
  • Courtney Paolantonio set career-highs in hits (32) and average with .299. This is the second consecutive year Courtney has tallied 20 RBIs.
  • Josie Gex has had a nice finish to the season. On the mound, she pitched five scoreless innings of relief in the 5-4 win against Maine, and in the series finale, Gex hit the game-winning RBI double.
  • Kylie Kenney was named to the All-Academic team. She finished the season with a conference-leading 128 strikeouts. 

Scouting the River Hawks

  • UML finished the regular season with a 20-27-1 record and a conference record of 8-12.
  • Morgan Fisher leads the team in hits with 47 hits and 37 RBIs.
  • Ryle White struck out 91 batters during the year.
