Bulldogs split against Mercer & Troy
MACON, GA - The Bryant University softball team split against Mercer and Troy during day two of the Mercer Bear Invitational.

- Bryant used a seven run third inning to open a insurmountable lead.
How it Happened (Gm1)
- Mercer plated a pair of runs in the first inning to take an early lead. The first run scored on a fielder's choice and a second came across on a single.
- Bryant would rally to tie the game in the second. Lewis (BB) and McAloon (1B) extended the inning with two outs and Hudson brought home a pair with a two-run single to left field.
- The Black and Gold then opened up the game with a seven-run third inning. Marcel and Rohwer opened the scoring with RBI singles, while a throwing error plated two more and made it 6-2. Amira Rainer then delivered a pinch-hit three-run double to right center to make it 9-2.
- Mercer would hit back-to-back home runs in the bottom of the third to make it 9-4.
- Cochran would push the lead to 10-4 with an RBI single in the fourth and the Bulldogs put the game away with four insurance runs in the top of the seventh.
- In the seventh, Rainer brought home Cochran with her fourth RBI of the afternoon to start the inning. Marcel would then draw a bases-loaded walk and Garabedian added a sac fly. The final run of the inning came across on a double steal.
Stats (Gm1)
- Lexi Powell started in the circle, allowing two runs on five hits over 2.0 innings.
- Paolantonio came on in relief to earn the win with 1.1 innings of two-run relief.
- McKillop closed it out for Bryant, allowing just one run on three hits over 3.2 innings. She struck out three and didn't walk a batter.
- Batting leadoff, Hudson went 3-for-5 with two RBI and two runs scored.
- Rainer came on as a pinch hitter and finished 2-of-3 with a double and four RBI.
- Clancy went 2-for-4 with a pair of doubles and two runs scored.
- Marcel plated a pair of runs.
- Rohwer picked up two hits and scored three runs.
- Cochran provided three hits, an RBI, and a run scored from the nine spot.

- The Bulldogs took a 7-0 lead in the top of the fifth, and then Troy tallied eight runs.
How it Happened (Gm2)
- Clancy tallied a solo HR in the top of the third (1-0).
- The Bulldogs posted three runs on an error, Hudson double, and groundout (5-0) in the top of the fourth.
- Rohwer launched a two-run HR to center in the top of the fifth inning (7-0).
- Troy scored two runs in the bottom of the fifth (7-2).
- The Trojans got within two on a double and error (7-5) during the bottom of the sixth.
- In the bottom of the seventh, Troy posted three runs for the lead and eventual win.
