Marcel goes yard twice, including a Grand Slam as Bryant wins both vs. UAlbany

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Megan Marcel of the Bryant University softball team hit a home run in each of the victories against UAlbany, including a grand slam in game two.

Alexis Clancy knocked a walk-off single in the 6-5 game one victory. Alexis Larrow tallied her first home run of the season during the 10-2 game-two victory at Conaty Park.

• Clancy hit a walk-off single in the bottom of the seventh.

How it Happened (GM1)

• The Bulldogs then had runners on the corner after a UAlbany throwing error, leading to an RBI single from Alexis Clancy (1-0). Sam Rohwer hit a single back at the pitcher for a second run (2-0).
• In the top of the third, the Great Danes hit a two-run home run to tie the game (2-2)
• Aleix Hudson hit a leadoff single up the middle, setting up Marcel, who launched a two-run bomb over the right field wall (4-2).
• In the bottom of the fifth inning, Makenna Coleman hit a triple off the right field wall, which led to a sac-fly from Hudson (5-2).
• UAlbany tied the game at five in the top of the sixth inning on two singles and a sac-fly (5-5).
• Faith Valenzuela hit a pinch-hit single and advanced to second on a Great Danes throwing error. Clancy then hit a pop-up that was misplayed by the infield, allowing Valenzuela to score for the walk-off in the bottom of the seventh inning (6-5).

• Hannah Cochran reached on fielder's choice and stole second, setting up Rohwer, who hit an RBI double over the right fielder's head (2-1). Bam then crushed a two-run bomb to dead center (4-1). Gracie Bishop followed the long ball with a double, leading to an RBI single from Coleman (6-1).
• In the bottom of the fourth, Coleman hit a double, Hudson knocked a single, and Clancy was hit by a pitch to load the bases. Marcel cleared the Bases, launching a grand slam to Depp left-center (10-2).
