Bulldogs post strong finishes at Quad Meet

BULLDOGS EARN STRONG FINISHES AT THE STONY BROOK QUAD MEET

STONY BROOK, N.Y. – Sophomore Nick Todman (Danbury, Conn.) won both the shot put and the hammer events as the Bryant University track and field team put forth a strong showing at the Stony Brook Quad Meet on Wednesday.

Todman won the first two events of his career to lead the Bulldogs. He won the shot put with a throw of 13.10 meters and then claimed the hammer with a throw of 42.76 meters. The pair of first-place finishes paced a strong showing from the Black and Gold as nine others attained top-five finishes.

The men's quartet of Michael Arons (West Hartford, Conn.), Kyle Reid (North Raynham, Mass.), Nicholas Douglas (Shelton, Conn.) and Kevin Louine (Mattapan, Mass.) won the 4x100m relay with a time of 43.44. Other top finishers for the men included Anthony Monteiro (Leominster, Mass.), Louine, Reid, Stephen Wood (North Providence, R.I.) and Blake Fenwick (Thomaston, Conn.). Monteiro earned a second-place finish in the 400m hurdles with a time of 57.57, while Louine and Reid finished 2-3 in the 300m dash with times of 35.36 and 35.44, respectively. Wood and Fenwick finished 4-5 in the 3000m run with times of 9:02.95 and 9:06.50, respectively.

On the women's side, a 1-2 finish in the hammer throw from Katelyn Kelleher (Wrentham, Mass.) and Hannah Murphy (Auburn, Mass.) highlighted the afternoon. Kelleher won the event with a throw of 37.73m and Murphy finished second with a distance of 26.78m. Kara Walsh (Waltham, Mass.), Amanda Dilley (Bridgewater, Mass.) and Allison Pavao (Swansea, Mass.) all earned top-five finishes as well. Walsh finished fourth in the 800m with a time of 4:54.44, Dilley finished fifth in the 100m dash 13.54 and Pavao finished second in the javelin with a throw of 32.74m.

The Bulldogs will not enjoy a 10-day break before competing at the Skyhawk Invitational on Saturday, April 14 at Stonehill College in Easton, Mass.
