Bulldogs to compete in BU Last Chance Qualifier

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – The Bryant University indoor track and field team head to Boston this weekend to compete in BU's Last Chance Qualifier hosted by Boston University.

Bulldogs Notes and Notables

  • Freshman Andrew Canale (Lincroft, N.J.) will be competing in the 200 and the 400-meter in Boston. Sunday will be the first time that Canale runs in the 200. Canale competed in the 400-meter earlier this season at Boston University posting a time of 49.34.
  • Senior Adam Winiarz (Norton, Mass.) will be competing alongside of Canale in the 200-meter after posting a time of 22.37 at the NEC Championship.
  • After posting his best 400-meter time of the season at the NEC Championships, Alec Binette (Glastonbury, Conn.) will be returning to the event on Sunday with Canale.  
  • Christopher Wrenn (Norton, Mass.) is set to compete in the 800-meter at BU. Wrenn finished 7th overall at the NEC Championships with a time of 1:59.22.
  • Senior Brian Salit (Seekonk, Mass.) and freshman William Bittrich (Duxbury, Mass.) will also be competing in the 800-meter. Salit posted a personal best of 1:57.75 at NEC's, while Bittirch ran to his personal best in the 800 at BU earlier this season.
  • Last season at the BU Last Chance Qualifier, Jordan Dagrin (North Kingstown, R.I.) finished third in the 1,000-meter posting a personal-best time of 2:30.25. Dagrin is set to compete again in this event.

The Bulldogs go back to Boston on March 2-3 to compete in the ECAC/IC4A Championships.
