Four Bulldogs earn All-NEC honors

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Four members of the Bryant University indoor track and field team have been selected for All-NEC honors. For the men, freshmen Jason Dolan (Westford, Mass.) and Andrew Canale (Lincroft, N.J.) earned spots on the All-Rookie Team. On the women's side, junior Emily Cluck (Johnson City, N.Y.) earned First-Team laurels while Julia Ayres (Collegeville, Pa.) was placed on the All-Rookie Team for two events.

Dolan earned his spot on the All-Rookie Team for the mile run posting a time of 4:17.33 during a fifth-place finish in his first-ever Northeast Conference Indoor Championship. Canale excelled in the 500-meter during his rookie season. He posted a career-best of 1:06.08 and finished sixth overall at the NEC Championship.

In her junior season, Cluck won a gold medal at the NEC Championship in the 400-meter, posting a time of 56.54. Cluck was the only Bulldog on both the men's and the women's side to medal at the Championship meet. After earning All-Rookie honors during the cross-country season, Ayres earned her indoor laurels in both the 3,000 and 5,000-meter runs. Ayres posted career-highs in both events while at the NEC Championships placing sixth in the 5,000-meter with a time of 18:52.64. In the 3,000-meter, Ayres finished 11th with a time of 10:53.67.

The Bulldogs are back in action this weekend as they host the Black and Gold Invitational beginning this Friday, March 29 and concluding the next day on Saturday, March 30.
