Bryant tunes up for NECs at Skyhawk Invitational

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – The Bryant University outdoor track and field team tunes up for the NEC Championship by heading to Stonehill for the Skyhawk Invitational on Saturday, April 27.

BULLDOGS NOTES AND NOTABLES

  • Last season at the Skyhawk Invitational, Chris Fasano (Lake Grove, N.Y.) and Brett Cloutier (North Attleboro, Mass.) finished 1-2 in shot put and are set to take re-take the thrown this year.
  • Anthony Holloway (Forked River, N.J.), Ryan Dumont (Salem, Mass.), and David Lackard (Framingham, Mass.) will represent the Black and Gold in the triple jump. A year ago, Holloway and Dumont walked away with first and second place finishes.
  • Junior Brian Murray (Westford, Mass.) set a PR last season in the 200-meter with a time of 22.80. Murray recently beat his personal-best at Charleston Southern but will be returning to the 200-meter mark on Saturday at Stonehill.
  • On the women's side, Shileigh Martinez (North Kingstown, R.I.) will compete in pole vault after breaking her PR last meet at the Ocean State Invitational. Martinez set a new personal-best of 3.20 meters.
  • Freshman Julia Aryes (Collegeville, Pa.) will make her Skyhawk Invite debut in the 3,000m.
  • Courtney Kelleher (Wrentham, Mass.) led the Bulldogs in shot put last season with an eighth-place finish and is set to compete again Saturday.   

UP NEXT
The Northeast Conference Championship is next for the Bulldogs and is set for Saturday, May 4 and Sunday, May 5 at Central Connecticut.
