BULLDOGS NOTES AND NOTABLES

  • Senior Matt McGovern (Long Beach, N.Y) is set to compete in his last NEC Championship in the 10,000 and 5,000-meter runs. Last season at the Championship, McGovern finished among the top-10 in the 5,000m and finished fifth in the 10,000-meter with a NEICAAA qualifying time of 32:27.37. Robert McCabe (Marlborough, Mass.) finished just behind McGovern last season in the 10,000-meter and looks to break his PR of 33:53.38 that he set last season at the Championship meet.
  • The Bulldogs found massive success in the field events on the men's side a year ago. Jacob Borgia (Westborough, Mass.) scored for the Black and Gold last season in pole vault, clearing a height of 4.00 meters for an eighth-place finish. He will compete again this year in the event alongside junior Nicholas Curci (Jupiter, Fla.) in his outdoor NEC Championship debut.
  • Sophomore Chris Fasano (Lake Grove, N.Y.) took home a silver medal in the shot put event throwing 15.24 meters and qualifying for NEICAAAs. He is set to compete again in the same event alongside classmate Brett Cloutier (North Attleboro, Mass.).
  • On the women's side, junior Emily Cluck (Johnson City, N.Y.) is back to compete in the 400-meter. Cluck took home the silver last season at the outdoor championship and walked away with a gold medal during the indoor championship after not competing in a single indoor meet this season. Freshman Rebecca Reynolds (Tewksbury, Mass.) will accompany Cluck in the 400-meter in her outdoor championship debut.
  • Sophomore Courtney Kelleher (Wrentham, Mass.) will represent the Black and Gold in the shot put event after finishing in the top-10 last season.
  • Captain Breann Campise (Tolland, Conn.) will continue to represent Bryant in the 3000-meter steeplechase. This is the first season that Campise started competing in the event and has found success by ranking fourth all-time in Bryant's top-10 record book.
