Bulldogs post solid outing at UMass Lowell

LOWELL, Mass. – Multiple PR's were set for the Bryant University men's and women's track and field team after competing at the George Davis Invitational hosted by UMass Lowell on Saturday.

American International, Assumption, Bentley, Keene State, Maine, Merrimack, New Hampshire, Northeastern, Providence (M), Rhode Island, SNHU (F), Southern Maine, and UMass Lowell all competed against the Bulldogs. No team scores were awarded.

MEN TOP PERFORMERS

  • Freshman William Remkiewicz led in the 400m with a time of 48.88. Every event that Remkiewicz has competed in so far this season has resulted in a first-place finish as he's accumulated four total, with two first-place marks in the 400m. 
  • Junior Jason Dolan finished first overall in the 800m with a time of 1:52.0.
  • The Hickey twins both set personal-bests in the 1500m. Nolan Hickey led in ninth with a PR of 4:04.97 followed by Aidan Hickey in 13th with a time of 4:10.17.
  • Freshman Nicholas Mirecki made his college debut in pole vault with a 4.20m mark. Mirecki finished seventh overall and now ranks eighth all-time at Bryant.
  • In field action, senior Nick Alessandro and freshman Emmett Ruote finished in the top five in javelin. Alessandro posted a 58.45m mark and finished third, while Ruote threw for 57.37m and finished fifth.
  • Senior Brett Cloutier finished fourth overall in shot put with a 14.62m mark.

WOMEN TOP PERFORMERS

  • Junior Nicole Xiarhos led the Black and Gold in the 200m. Xiarhos finished first overall, marking her second first-place finish this season in that event. The junior posted a time of 25.91.
  • In the 1500m, Sarah Freeman posted a PR of 4:50.84 as she led Bryant with a seventh-place finish. Senior Kierstin Lock also set a new personal best in the 1500m with a time of 5:29.81 which was good for 16th.
  • Freshman Grace Sullivan set a PR of 10:54.96 in the 3000m and finished in the top-10 in ninth out of 22 runners. But it was Julia Ayres who led the Bulldogs in fourth place with a time of 10:33.12 followed by Abby Hamilton in eighth with a time of 10:52.03.
  • Freshman Shelby DeGrenier etched her name in Bryant's record book in the 400m hurdles. Degrenier finished tenth with a time of 1:13.80 which ranks her seventh all-time.
  • The 4x100 relay team of Xiarhos, Jasmine Hope, Christina Capozzi, and Ana Bertarelli rank fifth all-time at Bryant as they posted a time of 49.59 for a third-place overall finish at UMass Lowell
  • Senior Camryn Wesoloskie posted a PR in triple jump with a 10.21m mark. The mark was good for a tenth-place finish and Wesoloskie improves to eighth all-time at Bryant.
  • Julia Mechlinski improved to ninth all-time at Bryant in javelin with a 28.64m mark. Mechlinski finished eighth overall followed by Emily Masera who finished 12th with a 23.36m mark.
