Bulldogs Bring Home Five More Medals on Final Day of NEC's
STATEN ISLAND, NY- The Bryant track and field teams capped off the NEC Indoor Championships with five medals on Day 2, bringing their meet total to six. The Bulldogs were led by a 1-2 finish from William Remkiewicz and Andrew Canale in the 400 meters and a gold medal from Emma Garrity in the 500. Both teams finished the meet 6th in team points.

Emma Garrity broke her own program record en route to winning gold in the 500 meters. She finished with a time of 1:14.57.

The quartet of Garrity, Savannah Pineda, Grace Yost, and Nicole Xiarhos took home bronze in the 4x400 relay. Their time of 3:54.38 set another Bulldog program record.

Abby Hamilton and Julia Ayres placed top five in the 5000, coming fourth and fifth with times of 18:10.82.

Rounding out the point scorers for Bryant were Sarah Freeman (4th, mile), Grace Yost (8th, 60m), Savannah Pineda (8th, 400m), Anna Orticerio (5th, weight throw), Maggie Fodera (T-8th, high jump), and the 5th place medley relay team of Freeman, Emma Grzybinski, Christina Capozzi, and Ali Kairys.

William Remkiewicz led the Bryant 1-2 in the 400 with a time of 48.41. Andrew Canale was right on his heels in second at 48.43.

Aidan Hickey took home bronze in the 800 meters, crossing the line at 1:52.99.

Bryant had a pair of scorers in both the 5000 meters and mile. William Bittrich and Ryan Slaney were 5th and 8th in the 5000, while Nolan Hickey and Jordan Dagrin came 7th and 8th in the mile.

Both the 4x400 and medley relays came home in fifth. The 4x400 team of Remkiewicz, Canale, Jacob Goodman and Ethan Ferraiola came home at 3:18.38, while the DMR team of Dagrin, Nolan Hickey, Mark Rubin, and Luke Silva finished in 10:17.43

Mason Jones and Nicholas Mirecki tied for sixth in the pole vault at 4.30 meters.
