Men’s and Women’s Track and Field both make history at NEICAAA Championships

BOSTON, MASS.- The Bryant track and field team recorded their best finishes in school history this past weekend at the 2024 NEICAAA Championships at the Track at New Balance. Both teams finished 4th with the women's team having 75.33 points and the men's team recording 61.50.   

The Bulldogs broke five school records and had 18 new additions to the school's all-time top ten performances. Day one would see Savannah Pineda break Bryant's record in the women's 200m with a time of 24.71. Ryan Slaney would also reset his own school record in the men's 5000m. On day two, Jasmine Hope would set a new school record in the women's 60m dash with a time of 7.61. Maggie Fodera would also reset her own school record in the pentathlon with 3236 points and tie the program's mark in the high jump; clearing a height of 1.61m.

Bulldog Notes and Notables

  • The Black and Gold had 22 total PR's this weekend.

  • Jasmine Hope finishes the 2024 indoor season as the NEICAAA champion as well as Bryant's all-time leader in the 60m as well as the long jump.

  • Ryan Slaney claimed event wins in both the men's 5000m and 3000m.

  • Aliya Barrows took home the top spot in the women's 500m after finishing in 1:13.96.

  • Kasey Thomas won the women's shot put; throwing 14.10m.

  • Andrew Gleason improves to 3rd all-time in the men's 60m after running a 7.11.

  • Kayla Ondy finished 7th overall in the women's 1000m with a time of 2:59.55; 3rd best in school history.

  • Ashley Brule cleared 3.69m in the women's pole vault to improve to 2nd all-time.

  • Vincent Sivo Improved to 4th all-time in the men's 200m; running 22.12.

 

What's next: After concluding their indoor season, Bryant will open up outdoor competition at the Buccaneer Invitational in Charleston, South Carolina on March 15th.
