WOMENS BASKETBALL SIGNS EIGHT STUDENT-ATHLETES TO NATIONAL LETTERS OF INTENT

SMITHFIELD, RI Bryant University womens basketball head coach Mary Burke is pleased to announce the signing of eight student-athletes to National Letters of Intent to enroll and participate in women's basketball at the University this fall. The announcement was made Wednesday, May 5th, by Coach Burke and Director of Athletics Bill Smith.

Bryant University Athletics celebrated one of its most successful years to date at the 2010 Athletics Awards Banquet Tuesday night, tabbing men's lacrosse senior Andrew Hennessey and women's basketball star Kelsey O'Keefe Male and Female Athletes of the Year, two of 12 major awards handed out.

SOMERSET, NJ A total of 35 Bryant University student-athletes have been named to the Northeast Conference Winter Academic Honor Roll, including four student-athletes earning Winter Commissioners Honor Roll distinction announced this week by the conference office.

SMITHFIELD, R.I. For the second year in a row senior Kelsey OKeefe (Warren, Mass.) has been named Rhode Islands Division I Co-Player of the Year, as voted on by Rhode Island Media. The announcement was made Monday afternoon at the final Cox Media Luncheon of the 2009-10 season.

SMITHFIELD, RI Bryant University senior Kelsey OKeefe (Warren, Mass.) and freshman Meredith Soper (Winthrop, Mass.) have earned the first-ever postseason Northeast Conference honors in womens basketball history. OKeefe, a Bulldog tri-captain, capped her record-breaking career with a First Team All-NEC honor while Soper topped-off her rookie campaign with a NEC All-Rookie Team selection. Both teams were voted on by league coaches and announced by conference officials at Friday nights womens basketball awards banquet.
