Bulldogs host Red Flash in Saturday's Play 4 Kay game at 1 p.m.

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – The Bryant University women's basketball team remains home on its four-game home stint, taking on Saint Francis U. on Saturday at 1 p.m.

GAME NOTES

THE SERIES
This contest marks the 15th meeting between the Bulldogs and Red Flash with the series tied, 7-7. The Bulldogs lead the series, 5-1, in Smithfield.

SCOUTING THE RED FLASH
After most recently dropping two-straight games, the Red Flash sits second in the league standings. SFU fell, 66-58, to Mount St. Mary's and, 87-71, to the lowest seed in the league, Wagner.

The Red Flash top the league in a plethora of categories, including scoring offense, averaging 76.7 points per game. Saint Francis U.'s high scoring is in part to Jessica Kovatch, who leads the NEC in scoring with 21.1 points per game. The sophomore averages 41.0 percent from the floor, 35.5 percent from behind the arc and 80.9 percent from the line. The New Jersey native's 21.1 points per game ranks her 12th in the country. Kovatch also tops the conference in made threes per game, connecting on 3.72 in 25 starts this season. Katie Reese and Ace Harrison join Kovatch in averaging double-figure points on the season, putting up 13.3 and 13.1 points, respectively.

LAST VS. THE RED FLASH
The Red Flash found their first lead over the Bulldogs in the second period and built confidence, heading into a 15-0 run that gave the home team a 12-point edge, 37-25, before the half. Despite Bryant's late-game runs, the Red Flash continued their rebuttal on offense, preventing the Bulldogs from cutting it closer than within five in the final period, as Saint Francis U. came out on top, 79-67.

AT THE POUND
The Bulldogs hold the best home record in the league at 8-2, which boasts well for the Black and Gold, as they play five of their final six regular season games at home. In the first meetings with the final six teams, Bryant went 2-4.

DOING THE DISHES
Sophomore Kierra Palmer averages 4.56 helpers per game, placing her first in the conference. She has recorded five 7+ assist games, most recently dishing out a season-high 11 against LIU Brooklyn.
