Sydney Holloway earns First Team All-NEC laurels

SOMER SET, N.J. - For the second year in a row, the Bryant University women's basketball junior Sydney Holloway (Morgantown, W.Va.) earned All-NEC First Team laurels, as announced Monday by the conference office.

Holloway concluded the regular season with 17 double-doubles averaging 17.5 points and 11.1 rebounds a game. The junior has posted two 20/20 games this season against Brown on Nov. 8 and St. Francis Brooklyn on Jan. 17. Holloway has also posted ten 20-point games and an added 20-rebound performance during Bryant's second meeting with Brown on Dec. 1. The Morgantown native posted three consecutive 20-point games against conference foes including Central Connecticut (20), Fairleigh Dickinson (20), and the second meeting with Central Connecticut (27). On March 4, she was one point shy of breaking her career-high with 29 points at LIU Brooklyn. She followed up with another 20-point performance over Wagner. Holloway has also climbed the Division I scoring ranks at Bryant jumping eight spots this season surpassing Bryant greats like Jenniqua Bailey and Naana Ankoma-Mensa with 1,302 career points. She is just 93 points away from catching Breanna Rucker for the top spot.

This season marks the fifth-straight year in which a Bulldog has been named First Team All-Northeast Conference.

The No. 5 Bryant team takes on No. 4 Saint Francis U at 7 p.m. in Loretto, Pa. for the Northeast Conference quarterfinal game.
