Bjelko named NEC Player of the Week

SOMERSET, N.J. - Brooke Bjelko of the Bryant University women's basketball team was named the Northeast Conference Player of the Week by the organization on Monday afternoon.

Bjelko scored a career-high 32 points and brought down nine rebounds in the win against Fairleigh Dickinson on Saturday. She also shot 10-11 from the free-throw line. In the last two games against Wagner and FDU, Bjelko has posted a total of 43 points, 14 rebounds, four blocks, and is shooting 53% from the field.

Bjelko now has 981 career points, which places her 6th all-time on the DI program scoring list, and is 19 points shy of 1,000 career points as a Bulldog. The Black and Gold will hit the road this weekend to face Mount St. Mary's on Saturday and Saint Francis U on Monday.
