Frongillo posts 21 in the Bulldogs victory against Emerson

SMITHFIELD, R.I.. -  Freshman Brianna Frongillo led all scorers with 21 points as the Bryant University women's basketball team defeated Emerson 111-27 at home on Saturday. Nicole Gallagher recorded 19 points on 8-9 shooting.

  • The Bulldogs outscored the Lions 32-3 in the second quarter to break the game open.

 How it Happened

  • Gallagher took control in the first quarter, going 7-for-7 and posting 16 points. Megan Bodziony added eight of her own, along with four from Marta Neira Martinez, two by Blanca Chasco, and a triple from Alana Perkins, to give the Black and Gold a 33-12 lead at the end of the period.
  • The Bulldogs then kept their foot on the gas pedal and outdueled the Lions 32-3. Led by Fonrgillo, who had 13 points on 5-7 shooting and 3-4 from deep. Jessica Berens tallied her first seven points as a Bulldog. Perkins and Kemari Reynolds posted five each, and Chasco posted a layup of her own to give Bryant a 65-15 halftime advantage.
  • The Bulldogs outscored Emerson 46-12 in the second half to earn a 111-27 victory.

  • Frongillo posted a career-high 21 points on 8-14 shooting, 4-8 from deep.
  • Gallagher recorded 19 points and shot 3-3 from beyond the arc.
