Bulldogs fall to UNH on the road

DURHAM, N.H. – The Bryant University women's basketball team fell to UNH 66-47 on the road on Saturday.

  • The Bulldogs didn't lead all game.

How it Happened

  • It was a defensive battle to begin the contest, with UNH earning a 6-4 edge. Kemari Reynolds scored all four points.
  • The Wildcats came out of the media timeout and stormed to an 8-0 run before Alana Perkins broke it with a wing three (14-7). UNH hit a three to end the quarter, giving the Bulldogs a ten-point deficit after one (17-7).
  • The Black and Gold tallied seven on another three from Perkins, Mariona Planes Fortuny's first bucket of the game, and a pull-up jumper courtesy of Lucie Castagne. UNH countered with nine points making the score 26-14 at the second quarter media timeout.
  • The Bulldog's defense finished the half strong, holding UNH to two points, while the Black and Gold tallied eight making the score 28-22 at the halfway point. Castagne posted four, Dana Kiefer hit a nice turnaround jumper, and Megan Bodziony went 2-2 from the line.
  • Both teams had a close third quarter, with the Wildcats outscoring Bryant 8-7. Fortuny hit two at the line, Gallagher got a tough layup to fall, and Castagne nailed a three before the media timeout (29-36).
  • Reynolds hit a strong layup, and UNH scored five heading into the fourth (41-31).
  • Both teams picked it up offensively to start the fourth, as UNH earned a slight 13-10 edge. Reynolds scored two, Fortuny finished a strong and-one, Perkins score her third three of the contest, and Chasco converted a layup (54-41).
  • The Wildcats closed the game on a 12-6 run en route to a 66-47 victory.
