Bulldogs compete at Dezy Strong Classic
CORAM, N.Y. -- The Bryant University women's bowling team wrapped up three days of competition at the Dezy Strong Classic in Coram, N.Y., this weekend.
Bryant finished the three-day event with a 3-10 record. The Bulldogs won two of their three matches on Sunday.
Friday - Baker
- Bryant competed in five matches on Friday, falling to Saint Francis U, Merrimack, St. Francis Brooklyn, Adelphi and Molloy.
- The Bulldogs' loss to Merrimack was by a narrow 834-831 margin.
- Kristy Murphy led Bryant with a 17.78 average on Friday. Abby Unson finished right behind her at 17.71.
Saturday - Traditional
- Bryant faced some of the sports top programs on Saturday, falling to nationally-ranked squads from Mount St. Mary's, LIU and Sacred Heart.
- The Black and Gold picked up a victory, 832-804, over Bloomfield.
- Olivia Hillman led Bryant on day two with a total pinfall of 911. She racked up games of 183, 199, 159, 182 and 188.
- Unson notched a final pinfall total of 824 with a high game of 200.
Sunday - Baker
- Bryant closed out the event with a pair of victories over Saint Anselm.
- Unson had a strong showing on Sunday, leading the Bulldogs with an average of 18.54.
- Hillman posted a 16.96 average.
Notes and Notables
- Bryant finished the three-day event in 17th place.
- Hillman finished 41st individually on the weekend.
