WOMEN'S LACROSSE FALLS TO COLUMBIA 19-11

NEW YORK – The Bryant University women’s lacrosse team
fell to Columbia 19-11 Saturday afternoon at Robert Kraft
Field. Delia Glover (Marston Mills, MA) scored four goals and
added an assist as the Bulldogs, who travel to Iona Tuesday, fall
to 3-9 on the year.
The Bulldogs fell behind 2-0 before Lauren Sheridan pulled the
visitors to within a goal with a free position goal at 25:31 to
make it 2-1. After a Columbia goal to make it 3-1, Mary Green
got the Bulldogs back to within a goal at 3-2 following a Lion
turnover. Glover assisted on the play.
Columbia would regain their two-goal lead a few minutes later but
Green once again answered with her second goal of the game on a
free position attempt to make it 4-3 Columbia with 11:04 to play in
the half.
Columbia (6-6) led 9-5 at the half but the Bulldogs would pull to
within 13-10 early on but the Lions would outscore the Bulldogs 6-1
en route to the victory.
Sheridan and Green each had two goals in the game while Eliza
Demarseilles had a goal and two assists.
Bryant (3-9) scored eight free position goals in the game but the
Bulldogs were out-shot 47 to 30. The Bulldogs will return to
action Tuesday with a game at Iona (3 pm).
