Descalzo garners second NEC, first ECAC Player of the Week nod

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Coming off a perfect 2-0 weekend, junior attack Lauren Descalzo (Hauppauge, N.Y.) of the Bryant University women's lacrosse team was named Northeast Conference and ECAC Player of the Week.

Descalzo, who helped the Bulldogs stay perfect in NEC play, put home 10 total goals in road wins at Robert Morris and Saint Francis U. over the weekend. On Friday, the junior scoring machine tallied four markers and dished out two assists in a 17-13 win only to follow it up with six more goals in Sunday's 17-10 win over the Red Flash.

Descalzo, who now has a team-high 46 goals on the year, helped her team clinch a spot in the NEC Tournament for the third-straight season. The Black and Gold wrap up regular-season play over the weekend with home contests vs. Wagner (Friday) and Mount St. Mary's (Sunday).
