WLax visits Navy on Sunday at 1:00 p.m.

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – After picking up one of the biggest wins in program history on Wednesday, the Bryant University women's lacrosse team heads south for a big non-conference matchup against Navy on Sunday in Annapolis (1 p.m.).

The Bulldogs (3-1) and the Midshipmen (4-2) have faced off twice before, but haven't met since the 2012 season, when Navy edged out the Black and Gold, 8-7.

In that meeting, Bryant held a 6-3 lead with just over 20 minutes to go in the game and led by one with 9:40 to go, but the Mids scored two goals in a two-minute span to earn the victory. Bryant greats Lauren Sheridan and Haley Bloom to score five of the Bulldogs' seven goals.

This season, Navy has faced two perennial NCAA powers in Duke and Boston College. The Midshipmen lost to No. 10 Duke 20-12 and fell to Boston College 20-11 in their last outing. Navy is averaging 16 goals per game and have put 76 percent of its shots on goal so far this season. Jenna Collins leads the team with 20 goals and eight assists, while Julia Collins (14-12-26), Kelly Larkin (14-12-26) and Meg O'Donnell (14-4-18) have all allied 14 goals. Morgan Young has scored 17 times, giving the Midshipmen five double-digit goal scorers.

Jenna Collins is also tied for the team lead in ground balls with Marie Valenti (12). The Collins sisters are also the top two draw specialists for Navy. Julia leads the team with 35 draw controls, while Jenna has posted 20. Ingrid Boyum has started all six games in goal for Navy, posting a 9.49 goals against average and .395 save percentage.

OCEAN STATE CUP CHAMPS
Bryant won its first-ever Ocean State Cup title with an 9-8 victory over Brown on Wednesday. The Bulldogs rallied from a 6-3 deficit in the second half, scoring the game-winning goal with 2:45 left in the game.

SULLY
Shannon Sullivan (Farmingdale, N.Y.) scored the game-tying goal and the game-winning goal in Bryant's victory over Brown. She tied things with just under 10 minutes left and then potted her third goal of the game, a flick over the top of the goalies head, with under three minutes left. It was Sullivan's third-career hat trick.

DE-ME-OHHHH
Jess DeMeo (Mount Sinai, N.Y.) recorded a season-high four goals in Bryant's win at Brown. She scored on all but one of her shots on goal and added three ground balls. After not scoring in the season opener, DeMeo has scored nine in the last three games.

DEFENSE
Bryant's defensive unit was outstanding at Brown, limiting the Bears to just one goal over the final 19 minutes. The Bulldogs caused six turnovers, won the ground-ball battle 22-12 and Samantha Santeramo (Wantagh, N.Y.) made eight saves to earn her third win of the year.
