DeMeo and Breglia both earn third NEC weekly honors

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Sophomore Jess DeMeo (Mount Sinai, N.Y.) and freshman Caitlin Breglia (Long Beach, N.Y.) coupled to take two of the three Northeast Conference weekly awards, earning NEC Player of the Week and Rookie of the Week, respectively.

DeMeo finished the season strong, posting 10 goals on just 14 shots as she helped the Bulldogs end the year with a perfect 7-0 record against NEC competition. DeMeo was 3-for-4 in free position shots and also posted an assist in an 11-point week, while adding four ground balls, two caused turnovers and one draw control. She scored five goals on six shots in a 19-14 win over Mount St. Mary's on Friday and posted five tallies on eight shots two days later in Bryant's 16-6 triumph over Wagner. The three-time NEC Player of the Week leads top-seeded Bryant with 46 goals and 54 points on the year.

Breglia earned her third-straight NEC Rookie of the Week honor as she helped the Bulldogs to a pair of wins to complete an undefeated season against NEC opponents. She scored six goals and added five assists to lead the team in scoring with 11 points last week. She was 3-for-4 on free position shots and posted five ground balls and one caused turnover. The freshman finished with three goals and four assists in a five-goal win over Mount St. Mary's and tallied three goals and an assist in Bryant's 16-6 conquest of Wagner. Breglia has scored a hat trick in three-straight games and in five of the last six to up her season total to 34 goals.
