Breglia, Kapoosuzian earn NEC weekly honors

SOMERSET, N.J. – Bryant University women's lacrosse junior Caitlin Breglia (Long Beach, N.Y.) and sophomore Giana Kapoosuzian (Merrick, N.Y.) were honored with weekly awards by the Northeast Conference for their performances last week, as announced Monday by the NEC office.

Breglia earned NEC Co-Player of the Week accolades after tallying seven goals and three assists in a 2-0 week for the Bulldogs with victories over Brown and Niagara. The junior attacker scored three goals in Wednesday's victory over the Bears and four in Saturday's win over the Purple Eagles. Breglia leads the Black & Gold this season in assists (6) and points (14) while ranking second in goals (8).

Kapoosuzian was selected as NEC Rookie of the Week after collecting the first two victories of her collegiate career. The sophomore goalie made her 11th save Wednesday at the final horn to preserve a 14-13 win at Brown for the Ocean State Cup. Kapoosuzian followed that effort with a career-high 13 saves in Saturday's victory over Niagara. Kapoosuzian is averaging 10.33 saves per game through her first three collegiate contests.

Bryant returns to action Thursday when the Bulldogs face Jacksonville at 4 p.m. to open a two-game Spring Break trip to Florida.
