Bulldogs Visit SHU Wednesday Afternoon

FAIRFIELD, CT- The Bryant women's lacrosse team will look to improve to 2-0 in the NEC as they take on Sacred Heart this Wednesday. The Bulldogs are coming off a win over preseason #1 Mount St. Mary's in Smithfield. Kenna Kaut scored five goals in the victory, earning her NEC Player of the Week honors.

Bulldog Notes and Notables

  • Kaut was named NEC Player of the Week for the second time this season for her performance against the Mountaineers. Her five goals and six total points gave her team leading totals of 22 and 28 respectively, and her averages of 3.67 goals per game and 4.67 points per game are first in the NEC.

  • Sam Centofante anchored the defense in the win over Mount. Her ten saves and 50% save percentage were both career highs, and her three fourth quarter saves helped shut out the Mountaineers over the final 15 minutes.

  • Bryant's win on Saturday was their first win over Mount St. Mary's since the 2018 NEC semifinals, and the first time an NEC opponent has defeated Mount since the 2019 conference tournament.

Scouting the Pioneers

  • Wednesday's game will be the conference opener for the Pioneers, who have gone 2-6 in non-conference action so far. They were 6-7 (6-6 NEC) last season.

  • Player to Watch: Senior attack Lydia Werlau leads the Pioneers with 20 goals and seven assists. She is top ten in the conference in both categories.

  • Bryant is 11-4 all-time against Sacred Heart, including a 15-10 win in their last meeting in Fairfield.
