Kaut and Woodward named team captains for 2024 season

SMITHFIELD, R.I. - Bryant University women's lacrosse head coach Eileen Ferry announced on Wednesday afternoon that seniors Kenna Kaut and Peyton Woodward would serve as team captains for the 2023-24 season.

Through her three years, Kaut has already solidified her place in the record books. She registered back to back 50+ goal seasons and became the third player in program history to have two 50 goals seasons. Last season she ranked top ten in the nation in goals and goals per game. Kaut has been named to the All-America East First Team, NEC Offensive Player of the Year, and the NEC All-Rookie Team during her time at Bryant so far. "Kenna has been an impact on the field at Bryant since her freshman year.  She naturally has a competitive edge and offensive mind that will allow her to not only excel on the field, but lead.  Kenna continually proves to set the example of what Bryant Lacrosse is all about," stated Coach Ferry.

Woodward has been an integral part of the attack rotation for the Bulldogs over her three years. Entering into 2024, she has played in 38 games and registered 38 goals with 16 assists. Woodward has also caused 36 turnovers. Woodward will look to build upon her junior season in 2024. "Peyton has a contagious energy about her.  She is focused, physical, and creative in her style of play.  As a leader, she is direct and puts the needs of the team first.  Peyton not only sets the tone on the field, but is integral in upholding a winning culture here at Bryant," says Coach Ferry.

Coach's comments on the team's overall leadership…

"This 2023-24 team has leadership coming from all classes and every position.  I am proud of the upperclassmen for holding high standards and having ownership of the program.  We're grateful for every day with this team, GO DAWGS!
