Bryant drops mid-week matchup to #25 Brown

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The Bryant University women's lacrosse team fell to #25 Brown, 20-9, in Wednesday's Ocean State Cup matchup.

How it Happened

Quarter 1: The Bulldogs came out firing in the first quarter and went up 3-1 on Brown in the first eight minutes. Brown responded with a run of three goals to go up 4-3. The teams then traded goals to finish out the quarter 6-5.
Quarter 2: Brown opened the quarter with three straight goals but the Black and Gold reeled the game back in by scoring a pair of their own to make it 9-7. Brown scored once more before the half, bringing the score to 10-7.
Quarter 3: Brown pulled away in the third, scoring seven unanswered goals to stretch their lead and make it 17-7.
Quarter 4: Bryant tried to cut the lead by scoring twice to start the fourth. Brown however added three more tallies to round out the scoring for the night.

Notes and Notables

  • Kenna Kaut added another accomplishment to her résumé when she scored her 150th career goal on her third goal of the night. Kaut racked up four goals in the game.
  • Emily DeGeorge led the team offensively with four goals and two assists for six points. DeGeorge is now at 20 goals and seven assists on the year.
  • Amelia Piercy tallied a goal and two assists while Riley O'Mara had an assist to round out the points for the Bulldogs.
  • Sam Centofante and Kaut each had three ground balls on the evening.
  • Freshman Kaelynn O'Brien had two of the team's three caused turnovers in the contest.
  • Brown had the edge in shots (37-30), ground balls (20-14), and draw controls (20-13).
  • Goalie Sam Centofante made 11 saves between the pipes for the Black and Gold.
