Marshall joins women's soccer coaching staff

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Bryant Athletics and head women's soccer coach Andy Biggs are pleased to announce the addition of Erica Marshall to the Bulldog coaching staff for the upcoming 2015 season.

Marshall arrives in Smithfield after spending a season as an assistant coach at Towson where she helped the Tigers earn their first-ever Colonial Athletic Association Tournament berth in program history in 2014.

"I am very happy that Erica has joined our staff here at Bryant," said Biggs. "She is a terrific person, role model and coach, and the players and I are very excited for the opportunity to begin working with her. 

"I have had the good fortune of witnessing Erica's work ethic first-hand and know that we have added a top young coach who will prove to be a very valuable asset to our team, both on the field and in the day-to-day operation of our program. She is a tireless worker, with great ideas and enthusiasm, and is fully committed to helping to our team compete for Northeast Conference Championships."

At Towson, Marshall was responsible for all major aspects of the recruiting process, including maintaining the recruiting database, in addition to game film editing, opponent scouting, equipment maintenance, and social media content management. While at her alma mater, Marshall oversaw the development of five All-CAA players, including a NSCAA All-Mid-Atlantic Region Third Teamer. During the 2014 season, the Tigers posted eight clean sheets, the second highest mark in program history.

Prior to her arrival in Baltimore, Marshall spent two seasons as an assistant at Brown University under long-time head coach Phil Pincince. While at Brown, Marshall helped the Bears to a 10-win season and a third-place finish in the Ivy League standings in 2013, their highest since the 2007 season.

Marshall holds a National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Premier Diploma, a NSCAA Level I Goalkeeping diploma, and a USSF C License.

As a player, Marshall led the Tigers in scoring three of her four seasons, compiling 55 career points on 23 goals and nine assists. She earned Second Team All-CAA honors in 2009. Upon graduation, she played for the ASA Chesapeake Charge, helping the club to the 2011 Region I U-23 Championship.

Marshall graduated from Towson University in 2011 with a degree in Physical Education.
