Bulldogs battle the Golden Flashes to wrap up Ohio campaign

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – The Bryant University women's soccer team wraps up their season-opening trip to Ohio with a game against Kent State on Sunday, August 23 at 1 p.m.

Both teams come into the match after being dealt a loss in their season openers. The Golden Flashes fell to Maryland (1-0), while the Bulldogs were kept scoreless in a four to nil loss to Akron on Friday night.

The nonconference contest, Kent State belonging to the Mid-American Conference, will mark the first time in history that the two teams have met. Kent State finished last season at 10-7-3 overall and 5-4-2 in the conference allowing them to reach the MAC Tournament where they fell 2-0 to Ball State in the first round.

A win against Kent State would allow the Bulldogs to leave Ohio at .500 and give them momentum going into the in-state match up against Providence on Thursday, August 27 at 7 p.m.
