Benson picked to play in NEWISA Senior Bowl Game

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Following a strong senior season, forward Scout Benson (Lynnfield, Mass.) of the Bryant University women's soccer team has been selected to play in the NEWISA Senior Bowl game.

Benson is one of 20 players selected to participate in the game, including fellow Northeast Conference competitor Charlotte Branch from Central Connecticut.

The forward led the team this season with three points off the game-winning goal against Sacred Heart and the game-winning assist against Wagner, occurring in back-to-back games.

Benson appeared in 66 games for the Bulldogs over her four-year career, recording three goals and three assists. The senior finished with a total of 90 shots, placing 44 on goal, including a career-high 18 attempts on target in her final season.

"I am honored to have been chosen," said Benson. "It will be a good experience competing with and against girls from other universities in New England."

The contest is set to take place at Merrimack College on Saturday, December 5 at 12 p.m.
