Five Bulldogs named to All-NEC teams

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Following an 8-9-1 record and a 4-3-1 mark in Northeast Conference play, the Bryant University women's soccer team has been rewarded for a strong season with five players being named to All-NEC teams, as announced at Thursday night's women's soccer banquet.

The Bulldogs' eight victories and four conference wins are tied for the second-most in the program's Division I history, and the five all-conference selections are the most for a single season in program history.

Four were made Second Team All-NEC selections, led by seniors Kaylan Conrad (Avon, Conn.) and Kianna Woods (Stafford Springs, Conn.) along with juniors Hannah Crofut (East Amherst, N.Y.) and Amber Thomas (Rochester, N.Y.). Remi Manna (Pleasantville, N.Y.) was named to the NEC All-Rookie Team.

Conrad finishes her career with her second appearance on the All-NEC Second Team behind yet another outstanding season as Bryant's keeper. She appeared in and started all 18 games, posted a career-best 1.08 goals-against average, which was good for second in the league and finished third in the NEC with six shutouts, tying a Division I record that she set in 2015. She made 64 saves and scored her first career goal in the season finale at Sacred Heart on a free kick, the first goal scored by a keeper in Bryant's DI history. Conrad finishes her career with the second-most saves in program history (303), the second-most shutouts (17) and the third-most wins (17).

Woods had a career year in earning her first All-NEC honor. She appeared in 18 games while making eight starts and started the last seven matches of a year in which she led the team with four goals and finished second with eight points, both career highs. She netted two goals on October 2 against LIU Brooklyn to become the ninth player in Bryant's DI history to score multiple goals in a game.

Having been an all-rookie team selection and First Team All-NEC over her first two years, Crofut earns her third all-conference pick. She appeared in all 18 games, earning starts in the final 15. She placed five of her 20 shots on net and recorded a career-best three assists, which was tied for the team lead. Crofut continued to be the versatile player she is, as she returned to the midfield after spending the second half of her sophomore year in the backline.

Thomas accumulated the most minutes of any player not named Conrad and was lockdown at the center back position. She started all 18 games and helped lead a defense that allowed the second-fewest goals per game in the NEC.

Manna had a productive rookie campaign, appearing in and starting 10 games. Though she missed the final eight due to injury, she still tallied five points on two goals and an assist while attempting 15 shots and six on target. She scored her first-career goal in the season opener against Stony Brook for the game winner in double overtime and was named the NEC Rookie of the Week as a result of her opening weekend.
